More about Lynne
Upon leaving school, Lynne commenced a career in Information Technology that gave her the grounding for a career in Recruitment for the emerging Information Technology Industry. Four years later Lynne joined Margaret Hopkins & Associates. Within 12 months she became a junior partner. In 1990 she purchased the remaining shares in the company. Lynne sold her company in 1997 to French-owned Adecco. They branded it as part of their ICON group of companies and had grown to the largest wholly owned recruitment company within Queensland.
During her time in Queensland, Lynne began investing in real estate in both Brisbane and the popular tourist destination of Noosa, learning the finer points of position, quality, and future resale possibilities.
After selling her recruitment business, Lynne took the opportunity of some time off and travelled extensively throughout Asia, Europe, New Zealand and the USA, developing a love of both travel and in particular, Italy. On her return to Brisbane Lynne formed her company Second Curve and became the Agency for Nanyang as a Venture Capitalist and Mergers and Acquisitions specialist for the IT and Manufacturing industries.
WiltonPeople, and a return to Information Technology and Power Generation recruitment, was born in 2001 when Lynne and her daughter returned to Melbourne. Also at this time, Lynne realized a long-held dream and opened Lynne Wilton Gallery in High Street Armadale, a glamorous retail strip in one of Melbourne’s premier suburbs, where she promoted emerging and mid-career artists.
Passionate about and successful in her real estate ventures, Lynne felt that the opportunity to pass on her knowledge was at hand and realising another long-held ambition – formed Solid Investment Property.
Lynne believes that it isn’t what happens to you in life that counts; it is how you handle it that matters. There are challenges at every turn and to meet these challenges head on and to resolve them is what separates good people from great people.
Lynne believes in living deliberately and she is well-known for saying that “Life is not a Dress Rehearsal”.
The Formula is Lynne’s first book, but with her usual energetic enthusiasm for passing on her knowledge, the second one is already in the pipeline.
